Launching SAVIGNE by Planet of the Grapes®

Savigne.

The word Savigne is made up of “Sa” from the word “Savoir Faire” the French for know how. A word that the French are obsessed with because of the beauty of making, crafting, the expertise and the knowledge to make at a very high level, a word that transcends through centuries in France and the wider world of French Luxury.

Then we have the second part of our material world, from the word “Vignes”, the French word for vines and where our materials world commences, in the vines of Provence. We watch, we learn from the patterns of nature and the vines throughout the year, as much as we learn from the works of the organic winemakers with whom we meet, know and we directly work with. 

Savigne by Planet of the Grapes® is way more than just a word, it goes deeper than that as we’re also intentionally building a biomaterials category. 

We don’t want to compare ourselves or to be compared to animal leathers. We do have some animal leather replacement textures and they look beautiful for what they are. We don’t want to be an alternative to vegan leathers, although we intentionally don’t use any animal components at all in our grape based, terroir-driven biomaterials. 

We are biobased and we are making our biomaterials to be as respectful to the planet as we possibly can and at the same time ensuring that they are made with responsible ingredients for those that are making them.

We love texture. We love colour and we love making our grape based biomaterials for Designers, Brands, Visionaries to be creative with and to be inspired with. No comparisons. Savigne by Planet of the Grapes® is our new terroir-driven Materials world and we welcome you to it.
