Eloine Le Mouel x Planet of the Grapes: Eloine shaped into a graphic biomaterial jacket

Eloine marks a new visual direction for Planet of the Grapes.

Developed within the Savigne by Planet of the Grapes® family, Eloine is a grape-based biomaterial defined by rhythm, precision and quiet movement. Its surface carries a repeat self-check that can read horizontally, vertically or diagonally, depending on how the material is cut, held or placed.

In collaboration with Paris-trained designer Eloine Le Mouel, that graphic surface became a sculptural jacket: zip-front, softly structured, almost sporty in energy, with shaped sleeves and a collar that gives the silhouette real presence.

A graphic surface held in soft reflection

Eloine brings a different kind of material language into the Planet of the Grapes library.

Where Canyon is shaped by terrain and Mercury by controlled lustre, Eloine moves into a cleaner, more graphic register. Its check gives the surface order. Its soft sheen gives light somewhere to travel. Its handle gives the material enough ease to fold, pleat and shape into volume.

The result is a grape-based biomaterial with a quietly technical feeling: sleek, contemporary and refined, with a memory of 1990s nylon seen through a bio-based material system.

Eloine is especially suited to designers drawn to subtle geometry, soft structure and sports elegance.

A collaboration shaped by silhouette

Eloine Le Moule brought exactly the right kind of design intelligence to the material.

Trained at the Institut Français de la Mode in Paris, she has a strong instinct for shape, construction and proportion.

When the idea of a jacket came forward, the direction felt naturally aligned with Eloine.

A jacket gives the material space to be read at scale, while asking real questions of cut, seam, sleeve, collar and movement.

The check became part of the construction. It could shift with the angle of the body, respond to the zip-front structure and move across the sleeves and collar.

As Samantha describes it:

“When you put the collar up and look at it from the side, it gives the most incredible silhouette"

Why Eloine works in jacket form

A jacket is a strong test for a new material because it asks for both structure and ease.

Eloine has that tension built into it. It is soft enough to move, fold and pleat, while still structured enough to define shape. In the jacket, that balance allowed the material to sit somewhere between sportswear and elegance: clean, directional and quietly expressive.

Its repeat self-check also made placement part of the design process. A seam can align the check, interrupt it or shift its rhythm. Bias placement can make the pattern feel more dynamic. Pleating and curved construction can soften the geometry. In this way, Eloine invites experimentation through construction rather than surface embellishment.

The material already carries the visual identity. The designer decides how that rhythm enters the garment.

A checked surface, cut into movement

The Eloine Le Mouel collaboration gives Eloine its first clear fashion expression.

It shows how a grape-based biomaterial can move into a more contemporary design language: graphic, soft, reflective and quietly technical. The jacket brings together the material’s strongest qualities - self-check, sheen, soft volume, zip-front construction and directional cutting - in one object.

For Planet of the Grapes, this collaboration opens a sharper, more sports-elegant side of the material library. For designers, it shows how biomaterials can offer pattern, rhythm and visual identity from within the surface itself.

Eloine gives designers a new starting point: a material shaped by geometry, softened by light, and ready to move through form.
