Rouslana Andriyanova x Felder Felder: the first dress made from Savigne by Planet of the Grapes®

Some material collaborations become technical case studies. Others become emotional ones too.
The dress created by Rouslana Andriyanova, Felder Felder and Planet of the Grapes became both: the first dress made from Canyon by Planet of the Grapes, and one of the clearest expressions of the material’s connection to vineyards, memory and place.
Canyon sits within the Savigne by Planet of the Grapes® family and is developed from grape marc - the skins, seeds and stems left behind after winemaking.
Its surface is matte, irregular and quietly expressive, with a topographical quality that feels shaped by pressure, time and touch.
In its structured form, Canyon has a firm handle and a strong sense of relief, making it especially compelling for garments that rely on silhouette and form.
A collaboration born through Future Fashion Concepts
The project came together through Daniela and Annette Felder of Felder Felder, whose Future Fashion Concepts platform connected students, designers and material innovators working toward more responsible fashion futures.
Rouslana Andriyanova brought a particularly personal relationship to the material. Her own memories of visiting her grandmother’s vineyards gave the Canyon an emotional resonance before the design process had even begun.
For Planet of the Grapes, this mattered. The material was not only being used because it was innovative. It was being understood through memory, landscape and lived connection.
Designing the first Canyon dress
Rouslana’s design transformed Canyon into a striking one-shoulder dress with strong architectural presence.
“With her wild and wonderful vision, she created the most striking dress.” - Planet of the Grapes founder, Samantha Mureau
The silhouette was pulled in at the waist, shaped with expressive darting and built out at the hips with wide sculptural pockets. Deep enough to hold a bottle of wine, those pockets became part of the story: playful, functional and unmistakably connected back to the vineyard.
This was the first time Canyon had been made into a dress, making the collaboration an important milestone for Planet of the Grapes. Garments test a material differently from accessories. They need to move with the body, hold shape, respond to proportion and create visual impact from all angles.
Canyon was especially well suited to that kind of exploration. Its structured handle, papery strength and ability to hold clean lines gave the dress its sculptural quality, while its matte, weathered surface brought depth and tactility to the silhouette. Samantha notes that Planet of the Grapes materials can achieve beautiful architectural forms - even wide hip pockets - when worked with an understanding of their physical behaviour, which makes this dress a particularly strong expression of Canyon’s character.
From grape to garment to vineyard
The most powerful part of the collaboration came after the dress was made. Planet of the Grapes filmed the garment in the vineyards of Domaine des Artauds in Provence, where the grapes used in the material story originated.
That return to the vineyard created a full-circle narrative: grape residue became material, material became garment, garment returned to the landscape that made it possible.
In sustainable fashion, circularity is often discussed in technical terms. This project gave it a visual and emotional form.
Planet of the Grapes a choisi de filmer le vêtement au cœur des vignes du Domaine des Artauds, en Provence, là même où prend racine l’histoire du matériau.
Felder Felder - The first Savigne dress, returned to the vineyard
The Rouslana Andriyanova x Felder Felder collaboration shows how Canyon can enter fashion as more than a surface innovation.
Here, Canyon became part of a garment with structure, memory and presence. Its topographical surface and architectural handle gave the dress a strong visual identity, while Rouslana’s personal connection to vineyards allowed the material to carry a deeper emotional charge.
For Planet of the Grapes, it remains a landmark collaboration: the first Canyon dress, shaped by a designer with her own vineyard memories and filmed back among the vines of Provence.
It is a material story with a beginning, a body and a place to return to.
